Tasks in Yoodoo

The building blocks of your day. Capture it, break it down, and get it done.

Tasks are the heartbeat of Yoodoo. You can create, customise, schedule, focus on, and complete them from multiple places across the app.


Let’s break it all down 👇


📝 Creating Tasks

There are 2 main ways to add tasks:

1. From the Task List:

  • Tap the ➕ icon next to a section

  • Opens the full task editor for detailed entries


2. Quick Add:

  • Tap the Quick Add bar at the bottom

  • Type and tap ➕ — it lands in the top section of your list instantly


Great for brain dumps or rapid-fire idea capture.


📌 Pinning Tasks

Need something always in your face?

  • Tap the task → tap Edit → toggle “Pin to Tasklist”

  • It’ll stay locked to the top of your list until done or unpinned
    Perfect for high-priority, do-not-ignore tasks.


🪜 Subtasks (With Optional Timers)

Break down overwhelming tasks into smaller, doable steps.

  • Each subtask can be assigned its own time estimate

  • The focus timer will then count down per subtask
    (instead of one giant chunk of time)


Use AI to Help

  • Tap “Generate Steps with AI”

  • Choose difficulty level (more difficult = more steps)

  • Optional: Let AI suggest time estimates too
    🧠 This is a PRO feature.


⏳ Deadlines

Stay on track with future goals.

  • Add a deadline to any task

  • These tasks stay top-of-list as the deadline approaches

  • If overdue, they turn red with a warning label — so you don’t forget


⌛ Durations

Scheduling tasks to your timeline gets easier with time estimates.

  • Set durations in 5-minute intervals

  • Want super short durations like 2 or 7 mins?
    → Just create a subtask and assign any duration — subtasks are fully flexible


🗒️ Descriptions

Add context, ideas, or random reminders.

  • Notes, lists, instructions — whatever you need

  • Great for reminding future-you what the heck this task was about


🗂️ Assigning Lists

Move a task to any list you like:

  • Tap the task → tap Edit → choose your list

  • It’ll appear in the top section of the new list


⚙️ Advanced Settings (Additional Tab)

Get more out of your tasks:

  • 🔁 Set it to repeat (adds to Habits > Repeats)

  • ⭐ Add to Quick-Add/Favourites

  • 🔔 Enable or disable reminders (on by default)

  • 📎 Attach files, images, docs from your device


✏️ Editing, Deleting, Duplicating

Tap any task → then tap the Edit icon.

From here, you can:

  • Edit

  • Delete

  • Duplicate

  • Archive

🔗 Linked Tasks: Lists ↔ Timeline

Tasks you schedule from a list are linked to the timeline.

  • Marked complete in one = complete in both

  • Super handy for staying on top of your daily plan and list progress


🔁 Rescheduling Missed Tasks

To re-add previously scheduled tasks:

  1. Tap a timeblock on the Timeline

  2. Tap Tasks → go to Scheduled Tasks

  3. See all past scheduled but incomplete tasks — add them back instantly


🎯 Focus Timers

Every task has its own timer.

To launch:

  • Tap the task → tap Focus

  • Pick your time and go — subtask countdowns included

💡 Save your best tasks to Quick-Add so you can reuse them anytime, fully loaded with steps and times.

Tasks are more than just to-dos — they’re mini systems.

Use subtasks for clarity.
Use durations for planning.
Use timers for doing.
Use deadlines for pressure.
