Timeblocking in Yoodoo
Turn your chaotic task list into a clear plan you can actually follow.
Timeblocking is the essence of Yoodoo, and what makes the app work as a system for helping you have a productive day, every day. It’s what turns your chaos into a clear, doable plan — and helps you actually stick to it.
Timeblocking in Yoodoo follows 5 simple steps:
🧠 Brain dump
🎯 Prioritise
📅 Plan your day
⏱️ Focus
🔁 Reschedule & repeat
1. Do a Brain Dump
Start on the Lists page.
Use the Quick Add bar at the bottom to type in 3–5 tasks to get started.
Tap the ➕ next to a section to add tasks directly there.
Add more sections if you want to organise things like:
Must dos
Nice to haves
Urgent / Later
Tasks are fully customisable too.
🛠️ You can:
Add subtasks (manually or hit Generate with AI for ideas)
Attach files, set deadlines, and durations
2. Prioritise Your Tasks
Drag and drop tasks between sections to sort the essentials from the fluff.
Hold down to move items around
Rename sections by tapping their titles
We recommend locking in your top 3 priorities — anything more is a bonus
3. Build Your Day
Now head to the Timeline tab.
Tap a timeblock to schedule a task
Or switch to the Tasks tab to drop in items from your list
You can also add meals, breaks, or free time — your day, your rules
In seconds, you’ll have your first visual schedule ready to go.
⏳ Pro tip: You can customise timeblock length and time format from the main menu.
4. Lock In Focus Time
Once your first task hits the current time, it lights up blue — that’s your cue:
🚨 This is the ONLY thing you should be doing right now. Everything else can wait.
Now tap the App Blocker icon to shut out distractions.
Or tap a task → hit Focus → set your duration → start the timer.
🧘♂️ Choose a focus sound if that helps you concentrate. (Just tap the 🔊 icon)
If you finish early, Yoodoo will ask if you want to start the next task — your call.
⚠️ Stick to your start and end times! That’s the secret to timeblocking.
Unfinished tasks? No worries — they’ll stay right where you left them.
5. Reschedule & Repeat
At the end of your day (or whenever you're ready), Yoodoo will prompt you to reschedule any missed tasks.
Tap the status bar to trigger it manually
By default, incomplete tasks roll over to the same time tomorrow
Uncheck any you want to ignore
Tap Continue, and boom — your next day is already taking shape.
💡 Final Notes
You can keep going and add more tasks, or call it a day.
Tomorrow, just repeat the process.
Your incomplete tasks will still be on the list, so nothing gets lost.
Timeblocking is about working with your brain — not against it.
Start small. Stay consistent. Your future self will thank you.
